Finished reading Harry Potter 6 last night….

And I won’t spoil it, but this pretty much sums up how I felt:

THE KID
— wait — what did FEZZIK mean, “He’s dead?” I mean he didn’t mean dead.
(The Grandfather says nothing, just sits there)
Westley’s only faking, right?

GRANDFATHER
You want me to read this or not?

THE KID
Who gets Humperdinck?

GRANDFATHER
I don’t understand.

THE KID
Who kills Prince Humperdinck? At the end, somebody’s got to do it. Is it Inigo? Who?

GRANDFATHER
Nobody. Nobody kills him. He lives.

THE KID
You mean he wins? Jesus, Grandpa! What did you read me this thing for?

  1. I was so confused. SOO confused. I mean, I hadn’t read any Harry Potter, but then I got really mad because why would they steal the name Fezzik for a character?! Don’t they already KNOW that Fezzik is a character IN THE BEST MOVIE EVER?!

    Then I got it. Slooooooow.

    LOL. Sorry ’bout that… 🙂

  3. I agree with Sarah. The Princess Bride is the best movie ever. As for the HP book, I loved it. I couldn’t stand book 5, though.

Yeah, I wasn’t a fan of book 5 either. It was dark and brooding, but then again, so are most 15-year-old boys. Having taught that agegroup, something bizarre happens when they turn 16 that makes them human again. So I think Ms. Rowling nailed the peculiarities of teenagers in her series.

I need to read the whole series again. Reading book 6 I realize that there’s just SO MUCH I’ve forgotten.
