Busy.

This is what I’ve been working on lately.

Helen's Stocking

It’s not finished — still needs a hanging loop and a profusion of bows and jingle bells and stuff off the back, but it’s getting there. I did the loopy fringe on Alice’s stocking last night, and I’ll hopefully make the loopy fringe for mine and Jerry’s today.

We’ve never had stockings before — I’m excited! Hopefully Santa will remember to FILL them, which is another issue altogether. Since we haven’t had them before, Santa’s not in that habit.

  1. First of all, that is a PRECIOUS stocking. I LURVE it. And it’s so nice and Christmasy. I’m partial to those because my stocking, since I’ve been born, is white.. with easter eggs on it. But an aunt made it for me, so I’m forbidden to replace it.

Second of all, make sure Jerry helps with the stocking. We learned the hard way one year that Mom’s stocking (if Dad is not on the ball) is the one that’s left out in the fray.

Once we realized what had happened, Jenni and I actually took a dog toy and stuck it in Mom’s stocking. Just so it wouldn’t be empty.

  2. I imagine Jerry will do okay with it. But I still, at the age of 32, help my dad stuff Mom’s stocking. Because otherwise he’ll forget. 🙂

  3. We do kids stockings but not grown-ups… I SERIOUSLY doubt Jeff’s ability to fill a stocking for me.

I’ve been working on a cross-stitched stocking for Elyse for 10 years now. I seriously doubt it will be done this year.

  4. Groan…reminds me that Tim’s STILL isn’t done. And I won’t have one until his is finisned. Sigh.
