I finished a sweater today!

I had Jerry take a few pictures of me wearing it, but the pictures make me look a lot frumpier than I’d like… Partly because I’m wearing fat pants, partly because the shirt I’m wearing under it isn’t right, and partly because my cell phone is a huge bulge in my right pocket.

So. I’m going to dress more appropriately, step away from the cell phone for a minute, and have him take more pictures. πŸ™‚

But anyway… I’m VERY excited, because I’ve been working on this sweater since the beginning of September, and I finished the knitting on it last night. So I started sewing it all together last night, finished this morning, and Helen and Alice and I went to the yarn store and picked out buttons for it.

Aspects of the pattern annoy me, like the neck opening is too wide and I’d taper the sleeves a little more slowly, but all in all I’m pretty happy with it.

Since I’ve been working on it in the library while waiting for tutoring students, it will be interesting to see their reactions to it when they see it finally put together after the holiday.

Here’s a frumpy picture…:
frumpy picture of sweater.
I swear on all that is holy I have not gained fifty pounds since the last time any of you saw me. Eight, yes. Fifty, no. And that picture is NOT flattering. πŸ™

But the sweater is DONE. And I wore it while running errands today. So toasty! I’m going to enjoy it. πŸ™‚
