Early Rising

If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.

Alice woke up at 5:11. I tried to convince her that this was totally unacceptable, but she was not in agreement. At 5:30 I caved and fed her. At 6 we went downstairs, and Helen was up by 6:25. I was fully dressed and wearing my walking shoes, and my mom called my cell phone to see if we were up. We were walking by 6:45.

We did 7300 steps (according to my mom’s pedometer) in 1 hour. Sweaty sweaty sweaty. We did the same number of steps yesterday, too, but yesterday felt like a lot more, because I didn’t have the FANTABULOUS new stroller. Seriously — there are some things I really like about it, some things I don’t, but it was MUCH easier to push than a standard stroller when moving at a higher than normal walking pace. So that’s good.

My muscles are tired today. And we’re going to the zoo tomorrow in Birmingham for Mona the Elephant’s birthday. Should be fun. 🙂
