Getting to know me (again)

Welcome to the 2008 edition of Getting To Know Your Friends. Change all the answers so they apply to you, and then send this to your friends including the person who sent it to you. Or just blog it and tag people. The theory is that you will learn a lot of little things about your friends that you might not have known!

1. What time did you get up this morning?

2. Diamonds or pearls?

3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
“Enchanted,” I think. Something with the girls, anyway.

5. What do you usually have for breakfast?
Oatmeal or other cereal.

6. What is your middle name?
Wick (took my maiden name as my middle)

7. What food do you dislike?

9. What kind of car do you drive?
Subaru Outback

A black skirt from Hanna Andersson that I have and love.

13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go?

I like Boden’s style, and I really like J.Jill, too.

15. Where would you retire to?
Colorado, if someone else did the shoveling.

16. What was your most recent memorable birthday?
20th — my friends threw me a surprise party and I remember Greg (my friend who is now married to Emma, but they never met during college) acting all weird while we were out to dinner at Outback… It was because he was trying to be sure I got back at the right time and the wait staff was making that difficult. It was very strange. LOL

17. Favorite sport to watch?
Duke Basketball, but I don’t really watch sports these days.

18. Furthest place you are sending this?

Journaling reads: Alice came to me with her shirt half off and wrapped around her head like a turban. I couldn’t get to the camera before she took it all off, so we re-enacted.

Jungle Cat

Hot off the laptop! (well, not really. I finished it yesterday…)

Journaling reads: Abbey likes to come out of our bedroom and peer through the plant at the top of the ledge over the stairs. I have noticed that there is also a distinct absence of leaves at cat height, which is very suspicious.

Top Secret Project

I’ve been working on this for Helen, since she’s obsessed with Ariel. The pattern is by Three Swans Studios and is called “Mermaid Song.” I added a purple bra and made her mammaries a bit less pointy. It’s ready to layer and quilt, and I think I’ll actually have it done in time for her birthday! Jerry thinks we should sneak in and hang it over her bed while she’s sleeping the night before her birthday. Heh.

You can click to enlarge it:
Mermaid Song

The technique is fusible applique, so this isn’t sturdy enough to be used as a utilitarian quilt. It’s destined to be a wall hanging. And that’s OK!
