He’s home! He’s home!

Jerry arrived home last night around 6pm, and Helen was afraid of him because of his “beards.” She wouldn’t let him touch her. She and I had talked about it at length before he got here, because Jerry had sent me a text message to let me know that the electric razor couldn’t handle a week’s growth. But Helen was NOT interested in a Daddy With Facial Hair. So as soon as he came inside, he and Helen went up to the bathroom so she could watch him shave it all off and return to the Daddy she knows and adores.

After that, all was fine with Helen, and she had a great time playing with Daddy until her 8:00 bedtime.

Alice was a little suspicious of his whiskers, but not overly so. She was definitely more affectionate after he shaved, but that’s kind of like saying that sugar is sweeter after you put more sugar on it. Alice is outrageously affectionate to begin with (although it’s just a ruse — she knows that you have food and she’ll hug you to get it).

Today was fun, with the girls both attacking Jerry by climbing up into his chair when he was trying to peacefully rock and mind his own business. They wouldn’t have it. They made up for lost time.

And I enjoyed the break, yessirree, I did. And I know that I was missed. That’s a wonderful feeling. 🙂

I love you, Jerry. I’m glad you’re home.

  1. I love this post. It makes me all gooey inside.

(And for the record, I’ll imagine that a week’s worth of stubble was kind of a turn-on.. the rugged camper returning home to his woman..)

  2. I’ll be posting a picture of BeardedJer later this week, then. 🙂

I love you too, E. I missed you even more than I thought I would, which was a lot to begin with.
