Day Four (well, day 3.5) of Helen’s tummy bug… Mom brought over several bottles of Pedialyte, and I forced Helen to drink 1 tsp of Pedialyte every 10 minutes for 30 minutes, then a 30 minute break, then 1 Tbsp every 10 minutes for 30 minutes, then a 30 minute break. Her tummy was able to handle it. She still had some nausea, but she ate six crackers today. So that’s an improvement. Yesterday she had nothing other than Gatorade.
Jerry’s mom came over this afternoon and I was able to take a nap for about 2.5 hours, which I desperately needed. I’m physically (and emotionally) drained from caring for sick kiddoes for over a week (I started with Alice’s ear infection last Monday). I just needed some time for myself, I guess, when no one was grabbing at me, climbing on me, puking on me, trying to snuggle with me. It was a wonderful nap.
And now I shall go resume it.
