Tonight, I was released from Mommy Mode for an evening and went to a bar for dinner with some girlfriends. It was a MUCH needed break from reality. I laughed harder than I have in a long time, and I had a great time.
Jerry has said for some time that I need more friends my own age. Many of the hobbies I enjoy (theatre, quilting, scrapbooking, etc.) are multi-generational, so I have a lot of friends my parents’ age. I don’t see this as a problem, but Jerry thinks it’s weird.
Tonight, we were all about the same age, really. It was so much fun.
Who knew? Jerry may be onto something. I hope that we can all go out again, because that was FUN. Ladies, if you’re reading this, I had a blast. Thank you!

“More friends your age” = “some friends your age” or perhaps “someone not your mother’s age for pete’s sake”
Glad you had fun.
I had a great time too! Got home to an adolescent questioning my love for her (since I stayed out SOOO late.) Husband was way more cool about it. (Rolling his eyes at the antics of said daughter.) Need to do it regularly.
I do this two to four times a month (whatever Brian’s work schedule will allow). It renews my soul each time. Glad you had fun (and wish I could have joined you).
